Lameece Kanan is a Massachusetts based registered architect with over 15 years of experience across residential and public sector work. Her practice has evolved through a range of design environments, shaping a strong focus on accessibility, equity, and thoughtful, human-centered architecture.
She earned her Master of Architecture from the Boston Architectural College in 2018, following a Bachelor of Science in Architecture in 2011.
Throughout her career, Lameece has worked with Studio Enee, KMA LLC, and DRA Architects. Early in her professional journey at DRA Architects, she worked within the interior design department, gaining exposure to architectural programming and specification writing across a range of project types.
She then joined KMA LLC as an architectural designer and access planner, where she developed deep expertise in accessibility design and aging in place. In this role, she worked closely on the adaptation of residential units and institutional buildings, ensuring that accessibility improvements were integrated seamlessly within existing architectural contexts, including projects for colleges and multi-unit residential developments.
She later worked with Studio Enee, a firm focused on equity and diversity in design, where she gained valuable experience in public sector projects throughout Massachusetts and further strengthened her commitment to inclusive design practice.
This range of experience led Lameece to establish Meta Moderna Architecture Inc., a practice focused on design that goes beyond immediate needs. The firm aims to revisit existing conditions and develop forward-thinking architectural solutions that respond to both present and future use. With a focus on accessibility, aging in place, and contemporary design strategies, Meta Moderna Architecture Inc. is rooted in the belief that thoughtful design should evolve with the people and spaces it serves.
